There can be great enjoyment from making jams and jellies. It brings about a feeling of accomplishment. Usually you prepare food and it is immediately consumed but with preserving, you have a beautiful product that lasts for many months. You can be creative with jams and jellies through combining fruits for unique flavors, packaging the product and gifting. Making freezer jam is extremely quick and easy and I actually like strawberry jam freezer style better than cooked.

The small filled red peppers were really showy and would make a great fall football game day snack.
My daughter made these stuffed peppers awhile ago and she went on and on about how wonderful they were so I thought I would give it a try. Her recipe was crock pot based which only works if you are the plan ahead kind of person! So, I made up my own recipe with the intent of not making too much work for myself.
6 large peppers or 12-16 small peppers
1 rotisserie chicken, shredded
1 can of black refried beans
1 box of Old El Paso Cheesy Mexican Rice
1 small can of diced Jalapenos
1/4 cup of Frontera Classic Fajita Skillet Sauce
Shredded Cheddar Cheese or Mexican blend cheese
Sour cream (optional)
Fresh diced tomatoes (optional)

This summer I set out to make an American Flag out of wood pallets. One turned into four after friends and family saw the first one.
My first charge was to find pallet boards that were in really good shape. I am lucky because my husband has a lot of them at work so he is able to bring home the ones that are in the best condition and have the best wood.

There is nothing better than making quick bread with fresh zucchini straight out of your garden. And if you are a gardener or farmer's market shopper you will want to hope for lots of zucchini to freeze and enjoy making this bread during the winter months.
